I was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta. I grew up in a Christian home and attended church all of my life. I grew up in a family that loved to help and serve others thus getting involved in church life and serving was a natural thing to do. So I got involved with singing in choirs, in Christian Musicals, volunteering in the youth group , on the youth leadership team, going to senior's homes to visit/ sing and entertain. In my teenage years ,I also helped with Vacation Bible school and Sunday School.
Because of my love for young children, I chose a career path that would involve young children. I attended the University of Lethbridge in 1973 and graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor of Education specializing in Early Childhood Education. I taught in both the public and private systems and enjoyed those years greatly.
I married my husband Len in August of 1980 and the Lord put my husband and I on a journey of personal study, prayer and seeking more intimacy with Him . This led us to the life we now live in ministry-one of serving and loving God and His people. We were believing God for children for a number of years and then the Lord blessed us with 2 wonderful, miracle baby boys, Jonathan in 1988 and then Matthew arrived in 1990. Those were days of great thankfulness to the Lord for His great kindnesses and mercies to us. It wasn't long before the boys education began to become a matter of prayerful discussion and then upon receiving a word from God, we made the decision to home school our boys. I home schooled them right from Early Childhood through Grade 12. I felt very blessed and privileged to do this. I believe we have cultivated a close family because of it .
I chose to make family a high priority in my life. I saw how family and ministry could work and flow together . My passion for CFG is to see families and marriages become all that God intended them to be. I believe that strong marriages and strong families are in the heart of God. When we have marriages and families that are strong in God's principles, we have hope to see a thriving church that can make a difference in the lives of others. I also have a passion to see every person excited and activated in the church, fully functioning in all that God has called them to do .
