“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.” John 15:9 

John the Apostle has left for us some of the most dramatic writings regarding the life and ministry of Jesus we have recorded in the Bible today. 

John's relationship with Jesus demonstrates a level of wholehearted love that calls to us even today. In John's gospel, his letters (1-3 John) and prophetic revelation of Jesus (Book of Revelation) there is a depth of love and relationship that is second to none. 

Jesus told his disciples to walk in new commandment, first commandment love (John 13:34-35) and John did so to the best of his ability. 

Starting Jan. 15th we at CFG want to fast 21-days focusing on John's writings which reveal to us the ministry and life of Jesus, and the love with which we are to carry for God and one another. 

I want to encourage us to set aside time for fasting and prayer, and reading through John's Gospel, his three letters to the house churches of Asia Minor, and the Revelation of Jesus given to him on the Isle of Patmos. This fast is a call for us to 'abide in the love' Jesus has loved us with. I am calling us to reset our hearts and minds on what Jesus gave to John, and my hope, is that we will touch by Holy Spirit, the reality of God's love for us individually and corporately.

Lord Jesus, I come to your cross to confess my sins and acknowledge my need of you. I repent of living my life in my own way and accept you as my Savior, my Shepherd, my Redeemer, my Lord and my Deliverer.

I invite you now to be the Lord of the whole of my Iife.

Lord of my mind and all my attitudes.

Lord of my body and my physical health.

Lord of my spirit and all my worship.

Lord of my family and all my relationships.

Lord of my gender, sexuality and it's expression.

Lord of all my work and service for you.

Lord of all my finances.

Lord of all my material goods and needs.

Lord of my emotions and all of my reactions.

Lord of my will and all of my decisions.

Thank you that your blood was shed that I might be set free. In Jesus Name, Amen.
